National Pug Day took on a new meaning at MeanPug in 2026 with the announcement of our inaugural companywide DOG: Day of Giving, scheduled for October 15 in partnership with St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. The initiative brings our team together around a shared commitment to supporting animals and the people who care for them.

DOG stands for Day of Giving, an initiative created to put our commitment to community service into action. The inaugural event was scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. at St. Hubert’s in Madison, New Jersey, with opportunities for team members to tour the facility, spend time with the animals, walk dogs and lend a hand wherever support was needed.

Because our team works across different locations, the initiative also includes a skills-based volunteering component designed to give remote team members an opportunity to contribute their professional expertise to a project developed around St. Hubert’s needs.

“We called it a Day of Giving, so the point is to actually be useful,” said Bobby Steinbach, founding partner of MeanPug Digital. “If St. Hubert’s needs hands, we can show up. If they need something we know how to do, we can help with that too. National Pug Day gave us the date. St. Hubert’s gave us a good reason to use it.”

Supporting St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center

Our partnership with St. Hubert’s began before DOG: Day of Giving. In September 2026, MeanPug contributed $1,000 to the organization, which also served as a Feline Friend sponsorship of its September 19 5K-9 Run and Walk for the Animals.

“MeanPug has supported St. Hubert’s in several meaningful ways this fall, and we are grateful for the company’s generosity and the time its team is giving,” said Diane Ashton, director of communications and corporate partnerships at St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. “We are excited to welcome the MeanPug team on National Pug Day and give them an opportunity to spend time with the animals and learn more about the work we do.”

For more than 85 years, St. Hubert’s has supported animals and their families through adoption, training, pet medical support and community programs that help keep animals with the people who care for them. We’re proud to support that mission and recognize the important role St. Hubert’s plays in its community.

Introducing Pro-Bone-O for St. Hubert’s

Giving back isn’t limited to showing up in person. That’s the thinking behind Pro-Bone-O for St. Hubert’s, the skills-based component of DOG: Day of Giving created to give our remote team members an opportunity to put their professional expertise to work for a good cause.

Pro-Bone-O was designed around a project developed to address St. Hubert’s needs, bringing together the creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills we use every day in support of an organization doing important work in its community.

DOG: Day of Giving Builds on Our Commitment to Giving Back

Supporting causes we believe in isn’t new to MeanPug. Over the years, we’ve contributed to charitable initiatives connected to our clients and the broader legal community, including the Society of Women Trial Lawyers and the American Association for Justice’s Women Trial Lawyers Caucus and Minority Caucus. Those efforts have also supported youth and community programs, health and human services, and public safety.

DOG: Day of Giving builds on that commitment by extending our approach beyond financial contributions and sponsorships. The initiative creates opportunities for our team to give something just as meaningful: their time, energy and expertise.

For us, DOG: Day of Giving is about more than a single day of volunteering. It’s about bringing our people together, sharing what we do best and finding meaningful ways to support organizations making a difference in their communities.

Our partnership with St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center reflects that spirit. Whether it’s lending a hand at the shelter or contributing our professional skills, we believe giving back starts with a willingness to show up and help where we’re needed.
