About Jose

José Loya is Brand Manager at MeanPug, where he helps elevate the agency’s presence across founder visibility, thought leadership, publication relationships, awards, portfolio storytelling, newsletters, social proof, and client experience touchpoints.

Before joining MeanPug, José spent more than 20 years helping law firms, professional services organizations, nonprofits, civic institutions, and advocacy groups sharpen their positioning, strengthen their visibility, and connect marketing activity to growth. His work has touched nearly every corner of legal marketing, including attorney visibility, pitch and proposal materials, RFP responses, award submissions, newsletters, website content, executive communications, social strategy, digital campaigns, client experience, and marketing operations.

José’s legal marketing background is broad, which is a polite way of saying he has written for just about every kind of lawyer imaginable. He has worked with AmLaw firms, regional and midsize firms, solo practitioners, public interest organizations, plaintiff-side personal injury firms, criminal defense attorneys, family law practices, immigration attorneys, estates and trusts lawyers, and legal advocacy organizations. He has also managed legal portfolios in agency and PR firm environments, giving him a practical view of how law firms think about reputation, visibility, referrals, and growth.

At MeanPug, José focuses on turning good work into visible work. That means helping the agency tell stronger stories, surface client wins, support founder thought leadership, build smarter visibility systems, and make sure the market understands not only what MeanPug does, but why it matters.

Things José is usually working on:

  • Finding the story hiding inside the strategy. 
  • Turning scattered ideas into clean, useful content. 
  • Helping very smart people sound like themselves, only sharper. 
  • Making legal marketing feel more human and less beige. 
  • Asking, “Who is this for, and what do we want them to do next?” 
  • Building systems that make brand work feel less like a scramble. 
  • Quietly judging whether a sentence needs fewer words. It usually does.

José is based in the Greater Philadelphia area and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Outside of work, he enjoys creative projects, music, design, good conversation, Philadelphia sports optimism, and pretending his Triumph Bonneville motorcycle is a practical commuter vehicle.
